If your not a morning person like me, then choosing an outfit in the morning can seem dreadful and sometimes a waste of time. This is why for some of us we can’t help but wear the same old boring clothes every day to our 9-5 job. I used to be that way all the time. I would always go shopping for the cutest outfits but when it came time to dress myself in the morning I could never put outfits together because I would always be too exhausted or in a rush to catch the bus. Trying to figure out what to wear every morning can get exhausting. Feeling like you never have anything fresh or new in your wardrobe can be demotivating. In today’s post, I am going to share with you three different techniques you can use to help spice up your work wardrobe.
Now before we get into the three ways you can help spice up your wardrobe. One of the things I discovered that really helped when it came to choosing an outfit to wear to work, was laying it out the night before. It has made a tremendous difference in what I wear every morning and I never have to think about it when I get up. Now if your wardrobe is pretty Plain Jane right now, here are some tips you can use to pick out new items for your work wardrobe next time your shopping.
1. Print
Including small and subtle prints are so very easy to incorporate and transition into your daily outfits. For myself, one of my favourite prints to wear is polka dots. These pants are the perfect pant to wear around the office. When choosing a print you want to make sure it’s a small print and not too loud or flashy for the office. Remember, you want to look fashionable while still keeping it professional. If you would like to wear skirts and dresses over pants to the office then check out one of my favourite go-to polka dot skirts I love wearing to the office.
2. Texture
Mixing and matching different types of textures and fabrics is a great way to spice up your work wardrobe. One of my favourite textures to add to any of my outfits are lace pieces. Lace adds such femininity and elegance to your outfit when worn correctly. This blouse right here is perfect for the office environment. It is conservative, but classy and fun at the same time. I also love how to light blue in the blouse contrasts really well with the navy blue in the pants. If you are looking at other ways to incorporate lace into your work wardrobe. Check out this pink lace skirt I styled here. It is the perfect length for the office and it is easy to dress up.
3. Fitted blazer
With a blazer in your closet, getting dressed for work doesn’t need to be boring anymore. A fitted blazer is a classic piece every woman should own in her wardrobe. It can transition from season to season and from the office to a bar with friends. It can be classy while also still being chic and edgy. This one I am styling here is so adorable and cuts off at my hips. I love the black and white detailing because it gives it such a classy look. This year plaid blazers have been everywhere and to get more ideas of the different style of blazers you can style for the office check out my favourite one right here.
