While I love leaving the house looking cute and fashionable all the time. When it comes to winter, practicality comes into play a lot more. Staying warm in Canada and trying to look cute and trendy don’t always go together. Typically, on a winterly and snowy morning, I am bundled head to toe and have about five different layers on of scarves, gloves, sweaters, tights, and anything else I can find to keep me warm. But, I have however found a way to still be able to look slightly fashionable when trying to strut the streets in the snow. So here’s how to look stylish during Canadian winters.
Firstly, grab a cute and colourful jacket. Whether it has patterns or a cute pattern, it’s the number one thing I always start with. You also want to make sure it’s heavy enough. Risking the cold with a thin jacket will likely get you frostbitten. Yeah, not the most fun. This jacket from Gal Meets Glam is perfect. It is quite thick and heavy. It also has a hood. When the wind comes in strong. you want a hood. Trust me. Also, look at how adorable thing gingham pattern is? I am obsessed and totally love the soft pastel colours for winter.
Next, you want to have cute boots. Boots need to be warm, waterproof (very important) but also cute. I love finding boots with a little bit of fur along the sides. I just think they are so darn cute. They also add some texture and chic qualities to your whole look.
Lastly, you want matching mittens, scarves, and torque. Yes, let’s have fun with the colour coordinating. I used to love getting matching sets for Christmas as a kid. It just made me feel so put together. With this outfit, I think it would be cute to add a white toque, scarf and gloves to really make the pastel colours in the jacket pop!
Like I said before, these tricks don’t always work and sometimes you may need to pull out the parka. But on days the weather is a little calmer, dress it up girl!
