As the name implies, a midi skirt is a little longer than a mini skirt but not quite as long as a maxi skirt. They tend to sit about halfway down your calf. I absolutely love styling midi skirts on myself but I love encouraging others to wear them as well. Learning how to style midi skirts is important to every woman. Why? Because midi skirts flatter all different body types. They help your waist appear slimmer while enhancing and emphasizing the natural curves in your hips and backside. Whether your taller or shorter, you won’t need to worry about a midi skirt not looking fabulous on you!
I love to style my midi skirts a few different ways. When I shop for my skirts I like to take into consideration a few things. First, I look at the colour & pattern. Picking the right pattern for the season and making sure it matches with a lot of other pieces in your closet is important. This leopard printed midi skirt from last year was such a staple. I know I will also be able to transition it into my fall wardrobe this year again.
Another thing I love to look for when it comes to styling midi skirts is its twirl factor. I don’t know about you but I love a good skirt that twirls. This skirt from spring was my absolute favourite! It had the biggest twirl factor and definitely made a statement walking down the street!
This last criterion is also very important. You want to make sure you are picking out the right fabric and texture of your skirt. This lace skirt that I am wearing below is very durable and I love the texture. One of my favourite skirts is my tulle skirt. I don’t care what anyone says, you can wear a tulle skirt any time, anywhere, all year long!
