Summertime is the perfect time to get outside. Especially on a bright and beautiful summer afternoon. One activity Gavin and I love to do is prep for a picnic and escape from the hustle and bustle of the city on a Saturday afternoon. We try to do it as much as we can because we find it very relaxing. Being able to get outside and enjoy some peace and quiet is very important for us and it allows us to just relax, listen to music or just read a book with nature. We try and pack some of our favourite snacks as well!
Gavin and I both work office jobs. So on beautiful and sunny days, we are couped up inside. We tend to get very frustrated, exhausted, and crave the outdoors. Most of the time on the weekends is spent outside unless it’s raining. Even out into the fall season right before the snow comes, we are always trying to squeeze in an outdoor picnic. As you can see here, this beautiful winery allowed us to enjoy a yummy picnic here last fall.
Another thing we love about picnics is that they are cost effective. We really do love our date nights, but sometimes they can cost you a pretty penny. Instead, we love to cook together at home or grab some snacks we have in the cupboard and pack it all up for a relaxing time out in the park.
Next time you are looking for something fun and relaxing to do with friends or your significant other, try heading out to your local park for a picnic.
