Smoothies are the quickest and easiest things for me to have for breakfast in the morning. They are healthy and super filling. Sometimes if I find I have time in the morning (which usually isn’t the case) I will sit down and make a smoothie bowl. I love experimenting with different smoothie recipes and testing out different flavours. One of the things I love adding to my smoothie is yogurt. When I am really hungry I will go for a Greek yogurt to add a little more protein and will allow me to be fuller longer, but most of the time I will just go for the regular one. My favourite flavour is vanilla, partially because I think it acts as a good base when it comes to fixing different fruit, nuts, or seeds in the mix.
This smoothie, in particular, is one of my favourites because it is loaded with all the delicious berries! I love blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries and the one thing they have in common is that they are loaded with antioxidants! Antioxidants have so many benefits associated with them! Firstly they help with your hair growth! Yes seriously, so if you’re looking for a natural and organic way to grow your hair faster then start implimenting more berries into your diet! I know for myself, I have really curly hair, and if you’re like me then you know that curly hair takes forever to grow! Secondly, antioxidants really help with your cardiovascular health, which means, next time you take the stairs, you won’t be huffing and puffing so much! These antioxidants actually protect your heart and decrease the risks of heart disease. Sound like a pretty good benefit to me! Lastly, not only do antioxidants help grow and strengthen your hair and protect your heart, but they also help treat acne. Yes, all you beauty guru’s out there that want to stop using those harsh products to cover up those imperfections, try eating more blueberries and strawberries. Antioxidants actually help protect bacteria from entering your skin and help stop the inflammation. This is what causes most of the acne and irritation on our skin.
