Valentine’s Day is so close! Holy moly I feel like the Christmas festivities have just ended. Time definitely flies by and before you know it Easter will be here and even summer! Woohoo! I can’t wait. Toronto is just getting flooded with snow and wind lately and all I want to do is lay on the beach and work on my tan. Anyone else feel that way?
For today’s recipe I decided to make these delicious and cute cheese cake puffs. Cheesecake is my moms favourite dessert. I mean don’t get me wrong, she loves her chocolates and all that other good stuff, but everyone has that special dessert they just love! For Valentine’s day this year I thought I would whip up these mini heart shaped cheese cake puffs! How cute are they? They are super easy and fun to make and don’t take many ingredients. I decided to make these little mini puffs to make it a little more Valentine’s Day festive as well as change up the typical cheese cake recipe. I love trying new recipes every year and I have played around with Puff Pastry once before with Nutella and it was delicious and so easy to work with (I know… I’ll have to make that recipe again for you all). The recipe is down below and mom approved 🙂

- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Flour
- 2 Egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 Pack Puff Pastry Dough
- Cherry Pie Filling
- 8 oz Cream Cheese

Preheat the oven to the 325 °F.

Spread the flour out on the counter to make sure the dough doesn't stick to the counter. Take a rolling pin and roll out the pastry dough until it is spread out

Once the dough is already spread out, take your heart shaped cookie cutter and cut out pieces of dough

In a separate bowl mix together the vanilla and the cream cheese until creamy

Place some of the cream cheese mix and the cherry pie filling on the cut out hearts

Take an egg and whisk it. Once whisked spread the egg around the edges of each heart pastry so that when you bake it the top pastry will stick to the bottom

Place the top heart shaped dough on top of the other ones

Seal the top and bottom of the party's together

Place it in the oven for 8-10 minutes

Let it cool and serve
