Elizabeth Taylor was known for many things back in the day. From a beauty queen to a movie star she always had eyes on her. For many others, including myself, I will always admire her as a fashion icon. Her beauty redefined the classic Hollywood aesthetic from her smile to her classic retro style. One thing Elizabeth Taylor did well was epitomizing elegance with the help of feminine tailoring. Besides always wearing her pearls and diamonds Elizabeth Taylor also loved to wear classic feminine dresses that suited her hourglass figure perfectly.
When I first laid eye on this dress I immediately thought of Elizabeth Taylor. From the sophisticated collar, the sinched waist, and the elegant emerald green colour I knew I had to have this dress. Classic cuts will never go out of style. She always wore beautiful quintessential pieces that many of us today still wear. In the 1940s garments were made with texture, elegance, and flare. I love the long flowy gowns, but most of all I loved the flowy midi skirts. One of my favourite skirts that reminisces the 1940s fashion is this black and white one.
