Whether you are planning a picnic in the daylight or under the stars, you can still make it fun and romantic in your own home. All you need is an outdoor living space or even a park close by and you can learn how to have a romantic picnic at home. My family and I have grown up picnicking every summer. It’s a great way to get outdoors and just relax. Being able to get away from the space you are around 24/7 can be quite refreshing. I know for myself, being in quarantine and not going into the office everyday has made my home too much of a familiar place for me. The environment gets stale and you feel like you need a change.
Gavin and I have driven outside of the city to quiet parks for a picnic. We have even gone as far as our own backyard. Lately, especially because of the sunny weather, we have been finding any excuse to get outside more. However, we have recently mastered the art to a calm, and peaceful romantic picnic for two. It does not take much to grab a few items from your fridge, a blanket, or quilt, and head out with your favourite bottle of wine.
Food
When it comes to picnic food, nothing makes me happier than sharing a delicious charcuterie board. All you need to do is grab 1 piece of cured meat, 1 block of cheese, your favourite crackers, and some grapes for your palette. Simple and easy.
Flowers
Flowers not only smell nice, but they also make everything look prettier and help with the ambiance. They are so colourful and always make me a little more happier.
Quilt
Having the right blanket or quilt to lay on is essential. We have one that is waterproof for instances where it has rained the night before. We also have ones that are pretty and for special occasions. This linen cloth was designed and made by Maria East from Up & Away. It is so beautiful with pink hydrangea in the Pink Lemonade colour.
Wine
It would not be a relaxing event without your favourite bottle of vino. Now when I enjoy my charcuterie boards, I love to have a glass of red wine. I am not a wine snob but I do feel like the flavours go better with red wine. Recently, we have been loving our Italian red wines to go with our meals.
Music
Calm and relaxing music is the best. Lately, I have been all over soft piano music. I find it very relaxing and the perfect music to sit and watch a sunset or set the mood for a romantic evening,
