The 12-Year-Old Jean Jacket That Never Gets Old

Trying to keep up with the latest trends in today’s society can be quite challenging considering in fashion, you can be in one day and out the next. Sometimes it feels like the fashion industry is a revolving door. Every season has new fabrics, colour palettes, and styles that everyone must get their hands on.

Jean jackets have been in around since 1880 and were created by denim legend and Levi’s founder Levi Strauss. He started off by creating denim jeans for cowboys and miners out west in order to provide durable and breathable clothing for the workers. Who knew this item would have trended for so long? I can’t think of any other item that would have been on the market for that long and still stand strong today in the fashion industry.

When I was in grade 9, 14-years-old, my mom bought me my first jean jacket from Joe Fresh. I was so excited! I assume I had one as a child but you grow out of things so fast as a kid, it’s hard to have it last. This jacket, hands down, has been the most worn item in my closet. I don’t believe I have anything else that has lasted this long and has been able to prove it’s long-lasting durability. Now that I am 26, this jacket is a good 12 years-old and I don’t see myself replacing it or putting it down anytime soon.

Ladies, there is no excuse as to why a jean jacket cannot be your best friend. They can benefit and flatter your figure in so many ways. First off, they are versatile and can be worn with everything. By having a fun and girly style I tend to wear a lot of skirts and dresses. By throwing on my jean jacket you immediately turn a fancy outfit into a casual one in seconds. I love it! Secondly, You can wash it an endless amount of times without it getting damaged. Lastly, they flatter all women who are all shapes and sizes. How can you not be sold on this?

I literally cannot think of an outfit a jean jacket won’t go with. Even today, denim on denim is a rising trend in our society.
