Nothing pulls an outfit together more perfectly than the perfect shade of lipstick. While there is a wide variety of different colour lipsticks one could wear, I tend to stick with the basic three colours. My 3 favourite lipstick shades are red, pink, and browns. Based on my skin complexion, hair colour, and style I find these three colours to suit me best. Now while all of the shades may not work, you will always be able to find one that suits you. Finding the right lipstick is like finding the right hairdresser. You may need to shop around a bit, but eventually, you will find one you love and never turn back.
Red
The classic red. It was popular in the 1920s and it is popular still in 2019 and onwards. One of my favourite red’s that I have fallen in love with in Yves Saint Laurent Beauty Women’s Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick. It has a super creamy pigment with a satin finish. It glides on any bare lip, but sometimes I like to add a layer of red liner underneath to really turn up this red’s volume. Plus I find it lasts longer during a night out when I add a good lip liner.
Brown
The 90s dark brown lipstick shade is back and ready for center stage! Every time I think of brown lipstick it reminds me of season 1 of friends when that’s all Monica, Rachel, and Pheobe wore! After all, it’s a universally flattering colour, so it’s easy to see why it keeps making a comeback. Charlotte Tilbury has by far one of my favourite shades of brown called Pillow Talk. It is the perfect lip colour for work, weekend, and a Saturday night party!
Pink
Pink knows no bounds when it comes to complexions. Whether it’s a magenta-tinted, sheer lip balm, or a high-pigment lipstick, this trend will suit all skin tones. I love a good blush pink lip. In the summertime, I love to rock a bright pink lip, but the rest of the year I like to wear a more subtle and neutral pink shade. Bobbi Brown makes some of my favourite lipsticks! The shade I am wearing here is called “Uber Pink” and it is so fun, playful and natural.
