There is nothing like a cute and comfy smock dress to start off the new fall season. Smocked dresses have been around forever. I can contest to say it is definitely a classic item. My favourite part about these types of dresses are the loose fit on the body and the ruched fabric. The ruches fabric is typically featured on the shoulders and bust. As seen on this dress here from ASOS. This was a recently purchase of mind over the summer. However, I found the fabric to be kind of on the thicker side. So I opted to save this number for fall and it works perfectly. My favourite part of the dress is the tiny floral detailing. It is just darling and the colours make it for a soft baby-doll-like dress for fall.
Smocked dresses are perfect for a comfier feel. I love the ruched fabric because I feel like with women who have larger busts, or girls who are in between sizes will benefit from this type of dress. There is nothing worse then feeling stiff and uncomfortable in a dress. Having that extra room around the shoulders and bust is great.
