It may be sad for summer to go but the one thing I absolutely love about fall is the endless amount of activities there are! Every year Gavin and I write down a list of things we want to do for fall. Every year the list gets longer and longer. One thing that always stays on the list is apple picking! I have gone apple picking almost every year since I was a kid. My parents would always take us and I plan on passing that tradition down to my own kids one day.
Last year Gavin and I visited Applewood Farm & Winery. We love discovering new farms and new places to see so this year we stumbled upon a farm that is just a quick 30-minute drive outside of the city called Pine Farms Orchard. This farm was absolutely stunning! The rolling hills of endless apple orchards were beautiful. Macintosh and Gala apples were pretty much the only apples ready to pick during this time of year. As we get closer into the fall weather more apples will continue to bloom and be ready for picking.
Our favourite part of the entire experience was when we got to visit their bake shop at the end. Gavin and I were pretty hungry after an entire afternoon in the sun picking apples so needless to say we had a few too many of their homemade pastries. No regrets on our end though, they were absolutely delicious!
