I am so excited that Valentines day is almost here! Mainly because the stores are stocked with pink and red candies everywhere, it’s just so pretty! Now I know many of us out there don’t like Valentines Day or believe that we should just have one day out of the year to celebrate our love for one another. I think look at valentines day as more of a holiday to dress up to go for a nice dinner with friends or a significant other and enjoy some holiday sweets! I mean who doesn’t love those cinnamon hearts, or all of the heart shaped baked goods? I mean hello, do you see what I am sharing with you all today? I remember two years ago, Gavin and I spent our first valentines day together and we decided we wanted to do something fun and head up to Collingwood and do some skiing. For those of you who are unaware, Collingwood is about an hour and a half drive north of the city. Well, it ended up being the snowiest valentines day’s day ever! It look us almost 4 hours to drive up there and once we got there we were exhausted from the drive up we took a nap at the hotel. Once it was time for dinner we had to shovel the car out of the parking spot and drive 5km/hr to get to the restaurant. The restaurant was all booked so we had to grab the table by the front door where it was blowing wind and snow through the door. I know what your thinking, and trust me the night isn’t over yet. When we get back to the hotel, we decided to enjoy some wine and Gavin was dying to watch the NBA All Star game. So yes, it was the snowiest, most exhausting weekend ever with the perks of watching the NBA. Can’t say I complained too much, I sat in bed eating my valentines chocolates all night, so I was definitely a happy camper.
Chocolate chips cookies are definitely a crowd favourite. I don’t want to toot my own horn but word around the street is my chocolate chip cookies are “the bomb.com” 😉 . They are the perfect gift giving dessert to give to that special someone! Scroll down to check out my yummy recipe :).
