There is nothing more relaxing than enjoying a day outdoors with your loved ones having a picnic. More and more Gavin and I have started to make a list of places and things we want to do in and around Ontario. We love travelling and discovering new and fun things to do close to where we live. Ontario in its self is a huge place to discover and there are so many cute small towns to visit with so many things to see. This weekend we decided we wanted to visit a winery in Prince Edward County. We usually visit wineries down in the Niagara region but this time we decided to head east of the city and try something new. Prince Edward County is beautiful so we decided to enjoy a fall picnic at The Grange Winery.
I immediately fell in love with the rustic antique vibe inside the winery once we arrived. The staff was absolutely amazing and made us feel very warm and welcomed. One of the ladies that worked there took the time to show us some of their wines and ciders that were made in-house. They were so delicious we had the hardest time choosing which one we wanted to have with our picnic. Now what makes the grange very special besides its gorgeous grounds, is the picnic option they have available. After tasting the different wines you are welcome to enjoy a picnic outside on the grounds. They provide you with a cute picnic basket for two. Inside there is a board, homemade bread, meat, cheeses, jams and spreads, and pickled vegetables.
As you can see with the picture above we made some friends that were running wild on the farm. This was a chicken that we named “Liza”. She was the cutest little friend and hung out with us for the afternoon as we enjoyed our picnic.
We managed to plan this picnic perfectly with the weather. It wasn’t too hot or too cold. It was very comfortable with a little breeze in the air. I was able to bring out one of my favourite plaid coats of the season. I found this gem at Winners and it’s a wool blend so it keeps me nice and warm. This sweater is the perfect chunky turtleneck to help get me through the fall and winter seasons. You can shop it here and you can’t tell in this photo but it has the cutest pearl detailing along the sleeves. For my accessories, I decided to keep them within the fall colour palette and match it with a burgundy cross body and my green boots which I got for only $20 which was such a steal! I have linked similar ones here and here.
