Hello beautiful people and welcome back to my blog! Today’s post is so so delicious and bursting with flavour! I don’t know how I accomplished it but I managed to put together a delicious and tasteful hummus recipe. Usually it takes me a couple of tries to get the hang of a recipe whether it needs more or less of an ingredient, but this recipe I managed to be BANG-ON. My family LOVED this recipe, even my mom, and she tends to be a picky eater sometimes which reassured me that this was a success!
I know that typical hummus is made with chickpeas ( or as some people like to call it “The Garbanzo Bean”), but I decided to change it up and use lentil beans! Why? Because they are absolutely delicious and filled with protein. With hummus recipes you can use absolutely any type of bean and mix it up using all the flavours you enjoy! I love the flavour of caramelized onions and, if I could, I would add it on absolutely anything!
Hummus is a great snack to have throughout the day and you can pair it with vegetables or your favorite crackers. Like I said before, these beans and filled with proteins and contain a high fiber content, therefore it will help keep you fuller for longer and get rid of some of those cravings or that “bored hunger” you might experience throughout your day. According to my sources , in just once cup of lentils it contains 18 grams of protein and 16 grams of dietary fiber! That’s amazing! Its a great poultry alternative that provides you with a great source of protein and extremely healthy!
I love taking hummus as a snack on the go or packing it with my lunches. You can enjoy it with veggies or crackers of your choice. I love finding different kinds of crackers that I can try and enjoy with my hummus. It makes it so much more fun and tastier! 🙂
DID YOU KNOW… that all of the essential vitamins and minerals found in lentil beans can help with your skin complexion, hair, and increase your energy throughout the day! These are not just tasty beans these are MAGIC BEANS!
