I can’t believe this collection is finally complete but it is here and I am so excited to share my hand-made dress collection with you all! This collection has taken up a lot of my time behind the scene of The Pink Brunette. I have been wanting to learn how to sew for quite some time. I have always contemplated it because I was either too busy or thought I didn’t have enough time. With the pandemic and nothing but time on my hands, I no longer had an excuse. I was finally able to sit down and teach myself how to sew! I will be honest, teaching yourself a new skill is hard work. Never underestimate any skill. Nevertheless, I am so grateful that I was able to actually complete 9 whole beautiful dresses and style them for you the best way I know how!
This blog has always been a creative outlet for myself, but I have never actually given myself a hands on project to complete from start to finish. I obviously knew I wanted to sew dresses. As a matter of fact, that’s probably the only thing I know how to sew. I have only ever attempted to sew dresses. Mainly because it’s the only thing I ever wear. However, don’t trust me to sew anything else. It probably won’t go well.
The theme of my collection is ‘Summer Romance’ and it could not be more fitting. My favourite seasons are spring and summer, and I knew I wanted to photograph all my dresses around all of the romantic florals. Even though this collection is only made up of 9 dresses, there were a lot of dresses that were made but never made the cut. It took a lot of time to perfect my art of sewing. And I will be honest, some of these dresses still have a lot of imperfections. But I could still not be happier with the outcome.
Every detail of this collection was thought out thoroughly. From the choice of fabric to the choice of design, each dress was designed by myself. There will be a separate blog post about where the fabric was purchased and my sewing tips. For now, please enjoy the pictures of my beautiful collection 🙂
