I would be lying if I said I was not on cloud nine spending my 26th birthday weekend in New York City at the Blue Box Cafe. I have dreamt about coming to Manhattan to enjoy a wonderful brunch and the dreamiest cafe’s ever since it opened back in November 2017. Even though it was a magical experience and I felt like a princess, getting reservations was next to impossible. Reservations are all done on their website and open up at 9 am, 30 days before so naturally, I set my alarm for 8:55 am and refreshed the page until 9 am. I was determined and it was the hardest reservation I have ever had to make, but it was definitely worth it! New York City is not around the corner so it’s not easy for me to try and get a reservation for any day. To say I was lucky to get a slot for 4 was an understatement. Nevertheless, I am forever grateful that I got to enjoy the experience for my birthday.
Some of you may know me pretty well but what most of you don’t know is that I have a twin sister! Yes, I know your probably wondering why I have never mentioned her before. My sister and I have a very close bond but are complete polar opposites. Personalities, likes, dislikes, qualities, literally everything! We don’t even look like, even though some people say we do. I beg to differ on that one. One thing my sister and I have in common is our love for travel and Tiffany’s so of course whats more better than flying out to NYC to check out the new cafe together?!
The cafe is located in the Tiffany & Co. store located on 5th ave in the heart of Manhattan. Everyone at Tiffany’s makes you feel so special and like royalty. I understand why Audry Hepburn in the role of Holly Golightly in the film Breakfast at Tiffany’s absolutely loved visiting Tiffany’s! The entire cafe is decorated in Tiffany blue with white accents. It is a very small cafe with no more than 10-12 tables. It is a very small an intimate cafe with impeccable staff.
Our reservations were booked at 4:30 pm (after fighting for every other time slot) so we were able to enjoy a light lunch/ early dinner. There were so many delicious things to choose from but of course, I had to choose to have the ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ entree which consisted of fresh fruit, tea, croissant, and your choice of avocado toast or waffles. I chose the avocado toast and it was absolutely delicious! For dessert, my sister and I had to order the blue box cafe. I mean you cannot simply go to the Breakfast at Tiffany’s cafe and not indulge yourself and take a picture with a blue box cake.
In terms of my outfit, if you haven’t already guessed I tried my best to dress up as a modern-day Audry Hepburn. This halter neck, high-low, A-line black dress is very modern and simple for a classic look. I added this white floral necklace and pearl embroided purse to help finish off this classy-lady-like outfit. As for my shoes, I wanted to go with a simple shoe while still being comfortable to walk to the streets of NYC so I went with these Steve Madden sandals.
