Hello my beautiful people! 🙂
Today’s recipe features crunchy and crispy granola BURSTING with flavour, and I’m not exaggerating. I literally can’t get enough of this stuff in the morning with my fruit and yogurt.
I don’t know about you but I love granola and I have kept telling myself for the longest time I was going to just do it.I don’t know why I kept procrastinating, but I am so happy I finally made it! I always eat granola whether its for a snack or in my morning yogurt. It’s a convenient and easy recipe for on the go!
The reason why I loved the fact that I made it fresh is because I am trying really hard to eat clean, and eat natural ingredients. If you go look in your cupboard right now and read off the ingredients of your granola, I bet there are some items you could do with out. Making fresh homemade granola gives it a nice and crunchy taste and it makes your home smell delicious! Can’t go wrong with that!
When I was cooking up this recipe I opened up my spices cabinet, opened my snack drawer and threw in anything that would fit well with granola. I think I did pretty darn well. My favourite spice in this recipe is the cinnamon! I absolutely love love love cinnamon. If I could I would put it on everything. The smell cinnamon has in your home when you bake with it is so warm and cozy! I love everything about it! This recipe reminds me of a good harvest crunch! If you bake some apples with some cinnamon and brown sugar, sprinkle this granola with a slab of ice cream, you got yourselves a great autumn desert my friends! (not a bad idea when I come around the fall with new recipes…ummmm).
I typically like to store my granola in mason jars. I feel it keeps them fresher for longer. This recipe can be stored in your refrigerator or cupboard for 10-14 days (if you can make it last that long). 🙂
For you moms out there who are always looking for quick and healthy snacks for your kids to take to school, pack them some of this and I promise you they won’t be bringing it home at the end of the day. You know they are eating tasty and it is super nutritious. I used honey as my main binding agent but pure maple syrup or agave can be great alternatives as well. Â Also, don’t be afraid to mix in other nuts or dried fruits or spices that you like :). Its fun experimenting!
Get cooking and Enjoy! 🙂
