This summer has definitely been one for the books. I mean, it is very different from most summers, yet also very special. This summer has taught me to enjoy the outdoors and cherish the time spent with others. Quarantining by yourself or with close loved ones is great. However, you definitely miss the interaction with your other friends and family. Now that Toronto is starting Stage 3 of reopening, Gavin and I have slowly started to interact with small groups of friends. As many of you who follow me know, picnic’s and charcuterie boards have been my thing this summer. I really wanted to reach out to some of my friends and plan a cute picnic and catch up after so many months apart. While picnicking alone and enjoying the outdoors is great, I am going to share with you how to decorate a picnic with friends. Because it’s even better. ๐
Learning how to decorate for a picnic with friends is super simple. All you need is a few things.
Food
Food! The one things that helps bring many people together. One of my favourite types of picnic food are fast, easy, and simple meals. This is why charcuterie always works. It’s also helps that it helps to make a stunning spread. With all of the different kinds of foods, textures, and colours a charcuterie board is the perfect addition to a pretty picnic. Just Graze did an amazing job at incorporating different foods and to say it was delicious is a serious understatement! If you are curious on how to create your own charcuterie spread, make sure to check out my blog post here.
Wine
The savoury and fun part of the picnic, the vino! When it comes to wine’s everyone is very picky. Some people like different kinds of wine with different types of food, while others don’t mind as long as there is wine! Which was the case with us! I mean put four girls in a room together and hand us some rose and you have no complains there. XOXO wine’s also never disappoints. Their new fruity flavours for this summer are very delicious and the perfect way to enjoy an afternoon treat!
Friends
I mean duh! Yes I know, I have been picnicking on my own all summer. But now is the time to get a few friends together! (I mean in all honestly we don’t know how long stage 3 will last). While we also want to have fun and enjoy company, lets still remember to social distance and respect the COVID-19 rules and always be cautious. I know Niki, Charlene, Kait , and I had the best time while still being safe ๐
Decore
The most important part! I can usually tackle every other item on this picnic check list, but the decor part is where I need the most help! Which is why I went to the experts from It’s My Sister’s Decor and Pink Pamplemousse Floral Studio. We received the most beautiful pink and white flower arrangements. Flowers are a definite must-have at any picnic because it really helps to brighten up the space and make it a lore prettier. When a space is prettier, it makes the occasion a lot happier. At least for me it does :).
Prior to this occasion I have never used a decor company or a rented anything for an event before. However, moving forward I will no longer be saying that because I found everything It’s My Sister’s Decor had to offer was amazing. As you can see from the pictures, they included everything to make the evening perfect. From the comfy pillows all the way down to the cutlery, it was amazing. If you are in the Toronto or Hamilton-Niagara region, I highly recommend checking out these local companies for your next event!
Outdoor Space
Now, in order to make it the perfect picnic you need the perfect space. What’s more perfect than a hilltop picnic spot over looking the water? Nothing!
Beautiful Weather
No rain, no clouds, and only sun! More specifically sunset because that’s how you make picnic’s and outdoor events that much more beautiful and magical!
I hope these tips and pictures inspire you and help you learn how to decorate for a picnic with friends and family.
Thank you so much to the following companies who helped make this get-together and beautiful picnic a success.
