A women’s closet is her pride and joy and every piece of clothing should make her feel beautiful and confident. My closet is filled with dresses, I simply just can’t get enough of them. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a love affair with dresses. Midi dresses, Maxi dresses, floral dresses, ruffle dresses, you name it I love it! This past weekend I came across this beautiful floral dress from Joe Fresh and it immediately became love at first sight. When I tried it on this dress fit me like a glove. It is so hard sometimes to find dresses that fit your body nicely in all the right places. This dress not only fit perfectly, but it is such a figure flattering dress for every woman!
As I stepped out into the dressing room to look at it with a full-length mirror, I glanced to the side a noticed another woman, who was larger in size, trying on the same dress. This dress looked amazing on her! I had to encourage her to purchase it because she looked stunning and I could tell how confident and happy that dress made her feel.
Now we all know women come in all different shapes and sizes and not all articles of clothing flatter everyone’s body type, BUT there are certain aspects that compliment every woman’s body. I’ll break it down to show you the 5 components this dress has that makes it stand out from the rest.
1. V-Neck
I love a good v-neck and there is nothing more flattering than a modest and conservative v-neck to help compliment a women’s chest. V-neck’s help elongate your neck, they help to narrow the width of the shoulder line and they help give the illusion that your top and bottom region are equally proportioned which in turn allows you to look slimmer. I don’t know about you ladies, but this seems like a win-win for me!
2. Waistline
The term “shape” describes the overall silhouette of your body. Meaning – the contours of your body figure based on your waistline. It doesn’t matter how big, small, wide, or short you are defining your waistline is a must! I love how the way the dress compliments your waistline. It has the perfect cinch at that helps define and bring out that hourglass figure every woman wants.
3. Midi Length
Midi dresses and skirts look fabulous on everyone, whereas maxi and mini lengths don’t always compliment every women’s figure. A midi length allows for a modest yet fun vibe. If you want to know my 3 rules to style midi dresses and skirts you can click here.
4. Ruffle Detailing
Ladies, ruffles are your best friend. Ruffles can be worn by everyone and anyone because they are able to add flattery to any type of silhouette. They even take the job of an accessory. Adding a little ruffle to your look can be enough to replace a statement necklace or stylish bangles. They are able to bring a tasteful statement to an outfit so you don’t need to worry about the added accessory. I love the ruffle detailing on this dress along the hemline and on the sleeves. 5. Pattern
It may be no surprise to you that florals are my favourite print for spring. I specifically love the small floral detailing on this dress because it adds interest and personality to the garments. Wearing garments with these style elements strategically can help attract attention to your best features. Medium sized and subtle prints help to distract the eye from focusing on just one area specifically. That is why these dresses are such a great choice for your wardrobe. The right print combined with the right style will enhance all your best features and hide any flaws.
